CAMERA Fellows 2007-2008
Every year CAMERA provides an opportunity for students across the nation to participate in the Legacy Heritage CAMERA Fellows program and to become active on campus in promoting the facts about Israel and the Middle East. The program helps counter the troubling problem of anti-Israel propaganda that often emanates from groups that claim to be humanitarian organizations, but which focus primarily on denigrating Israel with biased charges. At times, campus publications are a venue for bias as sometimes are classrooms where professors dispense distorted portrayals instead of objective information to their students. CAMERA helps counter the misrepresentations of Israel and the Arab-Israeli conflict with lectures, films, discussions and other events.
Our CAMERA Fellows know they've made a difference. Many of their peers have thanked them for eye-opening speakers they've brought to campus to educate the students. Our fellowship aims to educate thousands of fellow students nationally on crucial topics concerning the Middle East conflict and to do this in ways that make information exciting and accessible.
At the end of each year, we take our CAMERA Fellows to Israel for leadership training and to enhance their Israel advocacy skills. This year 25 students will be attending our trip in June and will have a chance to meet with Israeli journalists, government officials, and media analysts.
