MZ-Grinspoon Internships enable students to create meaningful, innovative, high-quality Israel programs and initiatives for their communities.  Students who pursue this internship opportunity have all kinds of backgrounds and levels of experience.  They are united by a determination to be leaders in Israel advocacy.

Arizona State University- Jenna Shadowitz

Jenna Shadowitz is a senior Design and Sustainablility major at Arizona State University.  Jenna’s participation in Hillel and her bat mitzvah in Israel have contributed to her desire to support Israel.  She also works with autistic children at the Southwestern Autism Resource and Research Center.


Baruch College- Rena Nasar

Rena Nasar is a sophomore at Baruch College.  Rena has been a passionate, pro-Israel activist since high school.  She is majoring in both Journalism and Middle Eastern Affairs with a minor in International Relations. She writes for various local magazines.



Brooklyn College- Jack Silverstein

Jack Silverstein is a sophomore at Brooklyn College.  He is a Political Science major with a minor in Psychology.  He interned with JDC during his freshman year of college and has always felt connected to Israel.



Brown University- Jennifer Sieber

Jennifer Sieber is a sophomore at Brown University. She is a History major and has strong family ties to Israel.  She is a percussionist and is involved in orchestra, dance, and peer advising on campus.



Emory University- Jonah Remz

Jonah Remz is a sophomore at Emory University. He is majoring in Business. Jonah has been to Israel numerous times, participated in Young Judea Year Course, and is the treasurer for “Emory Students for Israel”.  He is a member of Beta Theta Pi and plays intramural sports.



Florida Atlantic University- Brooke Weinbaum

Brooke Weinbaum is a senior at Florida Atlantic University.  Brooke is majoring in Jewish Studies, minoring in Sociology, and working for her college newspaper.  She has visited Israel twice and continues to be active in her campus’s pro-Israel community.  


Florida State University- Danny Ackerman

Danny Ackerman is a junior at Florida State University majoring in Graphic Design.  Danny has been to Israel five times, has participated in numerous Israel-related programs, and is minoring in Hebrew and Entrepreneurship.  He is a passionate cartoonist, graphic designer, and trapeze artist.



Hunter College- Milana Cohen

Milana Cohen is a sophomore Psychology major at Hunter College. Milana has traveled to Israel 4 times.  She has trained with the David Project, speaks Hebrew, tutors math and science and coordinates community service projects throughout the city with Habitat for Humanity.  



Indiana University- Jamie Kanselbaum

Jamie Kanselbaum is a junior at Indiana University, where she is majoring in Health Administration and minoring in Business.  Jamie travelled to Israel in summer 2010 and took Judaic Studies classes with various rabbis.  She is involved in running Israel-related events on campus and is the president of her sorority.



Johns Hopkins University- Rebecca Rubenstein

Rebecca Rubenstein is a junior at John Hopkins University.  Rebecca has travelled to Israel many times and has done various Israel-related programs.  She is a Cognitive Science major, a member of a co-ed community service fraternity, and works on pro-Israel activism.  


Michigan State University- Alex Waldman

Alex Waldman is a junior International Relations major (with Judaic Studies specialization) at Michigan State University.  Since actually travelling to Israel, Israel advocacy has become important to Alex.  He has taken an advocacy class based on the David Project techniques, is currently interested in legal research, and runs a music website. 



Ohio State University- Alysha Seroussi

Alysha Seroussi is a junior at Ohio State University.  Alysha is active in her Hillel’s community service organization and plans to study abroad in Israel.  She is majoring in Philosophy and Sociology, minoring in Business, and is involved in numerous extracurricular activities, including Greek life and volunteer work.


Rutgers University- Hillel Segal

Hillel Segal is a sophomore at Rutgers Unviersity.  Hillel has been on several different kinds of trips to Israel, and seeing the different aspects of Israel motivates him to be an advocate.  Hillel is currently choosing a major. He is a runner and is interested in chemistry and organic farming.



UC Berkeley- Nelia Barkhordar

Nelia Barkhordar is a junior Biology major at UC Berkeley.  Nelia is also a Senior Hasbara Fellow and does fundraising for Save A Child’s Heart.  She is involved in the Cal Pre-Dental Society and recently did cancer research at UCSF. 


UC Riverside- Judd Leiberman

Judd Leiberman is a junior Business major at UC Riverside.  Judd has strong family ties to Israel and at a Kibbutz near Nazareth.  He is part of three Jewish groups on campus and plays saxophone in UCR’s jazz ensemble.



UC San Diego- Shaina Ganjian

Shaina Ganjian is a sophomore Microbiology major at UC San Diego.  She has travelled to Israel five times and works on various Israel advocacy initiatives.  She is minoring in both Middle Eastern Studies and Psychology and is involved with the Biological Sciences Student Association.



UC Santa Cruz- Antaeus Edelsohn

Antaeus Edelsohn is a senior at UC Santa Cruz, where he is doing a dual major in Film and Economics.  He took one trip to Israel that made him feel at home. He works on various Jewish and Zionist programming, is in the Jewish fraternity Alpha Epsilon Pi, and works as a bike mechanic.



Union College- Alexandra Stone

Alexandra Stone is a senior Political Science major and English minor at Union College.  Alexandra worked with AIPAC and is passionate about pro-Israel lobbying.  She also plays on the Union tennis team and does tutoring.


University of Florida- Chelsea Cohen

Chelsea Cohen is a senior at the University of Florida.  Chelsea is double majoring in Criminology and Judaic Studies and minoring in Women’s studies.  She enjoys organizing and attending pro-Israel programs and she is also heavily involved in student government.


University of Kansas- Aaron Dollinger

Aaron Dollinger is a senior Political Science major at University of Kansas.  Aaron has done previous Israel advocacy with CAMERA and AIPAC and has been to Israel twice.  He is also a Communications minor and a founding member of Zeta Beta Tau at KU.


University of Kansas- Ari Sterenson

Ari Sterenson is a junior at University of Kansas, where he is double majoring in Political Science and Global & International Studies.  Ari has been to Israel four times, has studied at Hebrew University, and has volunteered in Be’er Sheva.  He also plays ultimate Frisbee and is a member of Zeta Beta Tau at KU.


University of Oklahoma- Erik Baker

Erik Baker is a senior at University of Oklahoma.  Erik is double majoring in Psychology and History, with a Pre-Med concentration, and has travelled to conferences in the U.S. that focus on the U.S.-Israel relationship.  He also has experience from having travelled to Israel and working for OU’s student government.


University of Miami- Jordan Magid

Jordan Magid is a junior at University of Miami, where he is Pre-Med and majoring in English.  Jordan has travelled to Israel on numerous occasions and began campaigning for Israel advocacy when he interned at UM Hillel.  He is minoring in Chemistry, Biology, and Psychology and is involved in his fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon.  



University of Texas in Austin- Roxanne Weiss

Roxanne Weiss is a junior at the University of Texas in Austin.  Roxane is double majoring in Biology and French and is involved in student government.  She feels deeply connected to Israel, especially after doing Birthright, and she plays a big part in AIPAC’s pro-Israel initiatives on campus.


University of Vermont- Hailey Stern

Hailey Stern is a junior at University of Vermont, where she is double majoring in Political Science and Geography.  Hailey is involved with Vermont Students for Israel.  She is minoring in Community and International Development and tutors other students in Political Science.


University of Virginia- Elena Weissman

Elena Weissman is a junior History major at University of Virginia. She spent last spring semester studying at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, which challenged her beliefs but solidified her support for Israel. She is also does various volunteer projects and writes for UVA’s radio station.



University of Wisconsin-Madison- Asaf Segal

Asaf Segal is a sophomore at University of Wisconsin-Madison.  He has spent significant time in Israel through various programs.  He is undecided on a major, is a passionate voice for Israel on campus,  plays ultimate Frisbee, and is a member of AEPi fraternity.



Virginia Tech- Jordan Disney

Jordan Disney is a sophomore Psychology major at Virginia Tech.  Jordan has done several programs in Israel, including six weeks of volunteering with the Israeli Defense Force.  He is a Leadership minor and he is a cadet in the Corps of Cadets at Virginia Tech.
