CAMERA (Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America) is a media-monitoring organization devoted to promoting accurate and balanced coverage of Israel. CAMERA helps students learn effective skills and strategies for countering anti-Israel bias.
What We Provide for Students:
- CAMERA offers a unique training opportunity for students called CAMERA Fellows. Experts from CAMERA, journalists, and other specialists on the Middle East lead workshops that teach students how to identify and respond to misrepresentations of Israel in the mainstream press and campus media. By participating in the CAMERA Fellows training seminar, you will become eligible to earn a free trip to Israel.
- On CAMERA’s intensive ten day trip to Israel, students meet with international journalists, government officials, and experts to learn about Israel's existential fight and the influential role played by news coverage of events in Israel. CAMERA’s trip is open to all students, including those who have participated on other organized trips.
- CAMERA on Campus is a magazine designed to provide strategies for action and basic facts to counter misinformation about Israel. To sign up for a free subscription, go to: http://www.camera.org/index.asp?x_context=29
- CAMERA will assist students with research questions about Israel and the Middle East, either for academic or for advocacy purposes.
- CAMERA has speakers available to visit your campus, and will help students get connected with speakers from other organizations.
