ICC: In Search of Israel Studies: A Survey of Israel Studies on American College Campuses
Until now, little empirical evidence has been gathered to accurately describe how and whether Israel is being taught on American college campuses. This publication aims to do just that. It is the first-ever portrayal of the state of Israel studies nationwide based on a thorough examination of the course offerings of nearly 400 universities — public and private, sectarian and non-sectarian, and large and small.
It is our hope that this study will help bring about a sea change in the number of Israel studies courses, departments, and scholars at U.S. colleges and universities.
